Trailer 1 was the first official performance of Grand Theft Auto VI. In addition to revealing Lucia and returning to Vice City, he introduced Leonida through beaches, swamps, traffic, parties, nightlife, crimes, fauna and videos inspired by social networks. Later official materials confirmed information that in 2023 were still only inferred for the community.
Overview
The video begins with Lucia inside the penitentiary and quickly travels across different faces of Leonida. In the final line, Lucia appears with the man later confirmed as Jason in a robbery and then in a conversation about trust. The Trailer 1 works today both as a presentation of the world and as an initial record of the relationship that sustains the campaign.
Lucia and Penitentiary
The first character presented nominally is Lucia. She shows up wearing inmate uniform and talking to a prison employee. Later official materials confirmed that Lucia was at Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family and eventually left by luck.
Vice City and Leonida
The trailer confirms that Vice City is just a part of a larger state called Leonida. The assembly shows skyscrapers, beaches, residential neighborhoods, highways, marshy areas and islands. Community reconstructions of the map began from these frames, but several estimates were reviewed with later materials.
Social networks as the language of the world
One of the brands of Trailer 1 is the large amount of vertical videos mimicking broadcasts, lives and posts. People dance in cars, argue in public, record animals, crimes and absurd situations. The feature presents Leonida as a place where events immediately saw content.
Beaches, parties and nightlife
Vice City appears full of bathers, boats, parties, clubs and busy streets. The trailer shows a densely populated beach, topping parties, strip clubs and modified cars.
Fauna and flooded areas
The trailer shows crocodilians, flamingos and other wildlife scenes associated with Leonida. An animal enters a convenience store in one of the fictional posts, while another excerpt shows swamps seen from above.
Cars and automotive culture
There are wide variety of sports, muscle cars, custom cars and street dating. Many models were identified by the community by bodywork and known brands of the series; these identifications should be differentiated from official confirmations.
Crime, police and news
Trailer 1 intersperses crimes and police responses with news transmissions. There are invasions, arrests, persecutions and helicopter images, reinforcing a state constantly observed by mobile phones, press and security forces.
Jason and Lucia
The man next to Lucia was not officially named in Trailer 1. The community already called him Jason because of previous material, and Rockstar later confirmed his identity. In the video, the two appear in a robbery and at an intimate moment talking about trust.
What later materials have clarified
Trailer 2, page Only in Leonida, screenshots and Extended Look confirmed Jason's name, featured secondary characters and gave context to Lucia's arrest and state structure. They also allow you to compare old scenes with later versions of the game.
What the community discussed
Forums analyzed virtually each frame: position of buildings, possible neighborhoods, vehicles, brands, NPC density and references to Florida. Many analyses helped the community mapping project, but several initial hypotheses were reviewed.
